An artist is a person who produces works in any of the fine arts.He/she requires knowledge and skills in one(or more) of the fine arts medium such as oil painting, water colour, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, mix-media etc. Art works created can be used to beautify buildings and their surrounding, interiors of buildings, wall mural for external / internal building walls, outdoor decoration including garden and playground. Most of the artistic creations are used to communicate ideas, thoughts and feelings as well as commercial values.


 To be an Artist (Fine Art), you need to acquire:

(1) Certificate in Western Art [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]
(2) Certificate in Sculpture [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]
(3) Certificate in Ceramics [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]
(4) Certificate in Printmaking [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]
(5) Certificate in Chinese Ink Painting [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]

OR

(6) Diploma in Fine Art [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]
(7) Diploma in Fine Art [LaSalle-SIA College of The Arts]

OR

(8) BA (Hons) Fine Art: Painting & Drawing [Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield (UK)]

(9) BA in Fine Art [LaSalle-SIA College of The Arts in collaboration with RMIT (Aust)]

Other equivalent diplomas from recognised institutions are also acceptable.

Course / Programme Entry Requirements

[Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts]

· To apply for admission to the 2-year part-time Certificate in Western Art/ Sculpture/ Ceramics/ Printmaking/ Chinese Ink Painting programme, you must acquire an interest in the particular medium.

· To apply for admission to the 3-year full-time Diploma in Fine Art, you must obtain at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits including English. For international applicants, an Entrance Test is required. For those without a credit in English, TOEFL or IELTS score is required.

· To apply for admission to the 18-month full-time BA (Hons) Fine Art, you must obtain a NAFA Diploma in Fine Art or its equivalent.
