Responsible for analysing and introducing the world's latest naval warfare technologies into existing RSN systems. Naval Engineering Officers focus on the modernisation, operation and integration of both ship and shore platforms - maintaining the Navy's position as a capable, efficient and cutting-edge military force.
To be a Naval Engineering Officer, you need to be/have:
- Male or Female Singapore Citizen
- Age 26 and below (below 27 if you are a graduate)
- Medically fit
- <800 degrees eyesight with normal colour perception
- Degree in either Naval Architecture, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering

The SAVER and FLEX schemes
The men and women, who have trained hard enough to call themselves RSN Officers, are part of an elite fighting force, integral to the safety and security of the Republic of Singapore. 1. SAVER

2. FLEX
Each year, numerous FLEX credits are given out and various benefits (such as additional annual leave, vacation vouchers and extra insurance for family coverage) can be purchased by Officers. This benefit system is specially tailored to meet individual needs.
Scholarships and Awards
Officers who wish to further their studies, and currently hold an 'A' level certificate or a diploma, may apply for various local and overseas scholarship. The SAF Merit Scholarship, SAF Overseas Scholarship, Military Training Award, Academic Training Award (local), Academic Training Award (Overseas) and Local Study Award.
