Naval architects design and build sea vessels such as merchant ships, offshore oil rigs, yachts and hovercrafts. They are also responsible for ship repair and maintenance and ship rebuilding. They work closely with marine engineers who will provide details pertaining to machinery specifications.


To be a Naval Architect, you need a:

- Degree in Naval Architecture (not available locally)

Those with a diploma in marine engineering, shipbuilding or offshore engineering can gain admission to degree course in naval architecture/ship science in overseas universities.

Monthly salary (approximate): $2,500 for fresh graduates
